Student Ministry

Student ministry exists at Redeemer Fellowship to cultivate communities of transformed disciples who live for the glory of God. In other words, student ministry exists to help our teenagers (6th-12th graders) grow as a community of followers of Jesus who live for the glory of God.

Wednesdays

Our 6th-12 grade students gather every Wednesday from 6:30PM-8:15PM to worship God through song, hear teaching from the Bible, apply God’s word to our lives in small groups, pray, and grow in friendship centered around Christ.

Events

In addition to our Wednesday gatherings in Luther Hall, our students gather for numerous other events throughout the year to grow closer to God and one another, including Summer Camp, Fall Retreat, hangouts with their small groups, and serving together in the community.

Contact

If you are the parent of a middle or high school student, we would love to connect with you! Please email Dalton Mitchell for more information and to be added to our weekly parent email.

What to Expect

Upon arrival, students will enter Luther Hall and head upstairs for hangout time. Hangout time is meant to create space for students to connect with their peers and adult leaders. We have snacks and games (i.e. foosball, ping pong, pop-a-shot, etc.) for students to enjoy during this time.

Next, students will make their way to their seats where they’ll hear important announcements, spend time worshiping through song, and hear teaching from the Bible. At Student Ministry we teach the same passage that was preached on the previous Sunday, further contextualized for the students. After the lesson, students have a time of response: a few minutes to turn to God in prayer after the lesson.

After response time, students are dismissed to their same sex and same grade small groups, where they spend 45 minutes discussing the lesson, applying it to their lives, asking questions, and praying together.

Each small group has at least two *adult leaders of the same sex who age up with them each year from middle through high school. Often, mentor relationships are built between the students and leaders over the years as they follow Christ together through numerous seasons of life.

Once small groups are wrapped up students help clean up then head home or are free to stick around and hang out a bit longer with their friends!
