The minor prophets lived and ministered at a key time in Israel’s history.

Through turmoil, they brought the word of God to the people of God, exposing the sin, weakness, rebellion, failure, and complete dependence upon God in the people of Judah and Israel.That same sin and weakness is present in us, so the minor prophets bring us face to face with our failure and our need for a savior.

As we move through the Easter season, we are looking to the minor prophets to bring us deeper into the story of Jesus. Why did Jesus have to come? Why did He die? What did His death accomplish? The minor prophets speak to a specific time and place in history, but they also speak to the universal human condition and experience.

Amos 5:6 sums up the message of the prophets and the theme of our series: Seek the Lord and live!
