“By the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.” -1 Corinthians 15:10
Paul’s first letter to the Corinthian church is a masterful application of the gospel to the complicated, conflicted lives of its first audience. As he addresses problem after problem within the church, Paul constantly points back to the cross, “the foolishness of God” as the central reality in life that overcomes everything.
We face the same sinful struggles: pride, favoritism, greed, sex, marriage, work, and how to live together as the people of God. 2,000 years later, the solution is the same. The crucified and risen Jesus is the center of the Christian life.
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation as we live all of life for the glory of God.
